WASHINGTON – Blue Engine Message & Media is pleased to announce that Adam Abrams, former regional communications director and spokesman for President Barack Obama and the White House, has joined the rapidly growing strategic communications firm. Adam joins the firm’s senior strategists in helping corporations, coalitions, non-profits and national trade associations to create, develop and implement successful strategic communications campaigns.

“Adam has deep experience developing effective communications plans for complex public policy debates, and he has worked intensively with media in markets across the country. We’re thrilled to have Adam join our team and expand our capacity to provide clients with the highest quality expertise and services,” said Erik Smith, founder of Blue Engine Message & Media.

In the White House press office, Adam directed communications for more than two dozen states, including several swing states and his native California. Adam managed targeted press roll-outs during the historic debates on health care reform and financial regulation reform as well as communications on critical policy issues such as housing, energy and education. Adam served as the primary daily White House contact for regional print, internet and broadcast reporters from across the country. Prior to his time in the Obama White House, Adam was communications director and speechwriter for Pennsylvania Congressman Patrick Murphy, the first Iraq war veteran elected to the United States House of Representatives. Adam served on the rapid response communication team at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee under then-Chairman Rahm Emanuel. Adam also worked on the communications staff for the Obama 2008 presidential campaign and Senator John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign.
